How do I get started?
Visit the My Brewing Buddy website to explore the web beta and create an account. Contact us for the current Android testing or installation details.
Is this the same as Brew Buddy Toolbox?
No. My Brewing Buddy is for recipe creation and management. Brew Buddy Toolbox is a separate Android utility for offline calculations, conversions, and reference tables.
Can I use recipes offline?
Recipe features connect to your My Brewing Buddy account and need internet access. The separate Toolbox app is designed for offline use.
Where do I get account help?
Use our support page and choose My Brewing Buddy when sending a message. Never include your password.

My Brewing Buddy.
The story so far, from the first preview to our latest improvements. This history includes development builds; availability can differ by testing track. Dates describe recorded development updates, not necessarily app store releases.
Your recipe’s gravity, at a glance
- Added estimated original gravity and final gravity to personal recipe details and recipe list cards.
- Shows “Not available” when an estimate is missing, instead of guessing from your recipe notes.
- Refresh retrieves updated estimates after you change a recipe on the website.
Gravity estimates require the corresponding My Brewing Buddy website update. This is the current development version; a matching store release is not confirmed here.
Your ingredients. A community of recipes.
- Added My ingredients: create personal ingredients, copy catalog entries, search, and archive items you no longer use.
- Added members-only Community recipes with browsing and copying of approved recipes.
- Added Share recipe with a preview and explicit consent, plus submission status, withdrawal, and recipe reporting.
- Keeps ingredient specifications with shared recipes so you can review them before copying.
These features require the matching website update and a signed-in My Brewing Buddy account.
Clearer ingredient quantities
- Missing numeric fields now clearly say that a value is required.
- Validation limits use ordinary decimal numbers for easier reading.
- A companion website fix improves recognition of explicitly named tablet quantities in recipe suggestions.

Know which version you’re using
- Added the app version and build number beneath the Account controls.
- The welcome screen now displays the version from the installed build, including the preview label when applicable.
From a Brew Buddy suggestion to your recipe book
- Added Review and save recipe to open a generated recipe as an editable, unsaved draft.
- Fills matched ingredients and quantities in your account units, while leaving unknown amounts for you to review.
- Lists unmatched ingredients for manual addition and preserves the original suggestion in Notes.
- A recipe is saved only after you review it and choose Save.
More brewing calculations, right in the app
- Added offline apparent attenuation, strike-water temperature, and brewhouse efficiency calculators.
- Strike-water calculations support Fahrenheit or Celsius and US qt/lb or L/kg.
- The new tools follow your selected light, dark, or system appearance.
The first offline calculators
- Added native ABV calculation and measurement conversion without an account or internet connection.
- Conversions cover volume, weight, temperature, pressure, and length, with US and Imperial measures labeled separately.
- Added Swap units and Clear; editing an input clears the previous result.
- Calculator inputs survive normal screen rotation.
Calculators and a look that suits you
- Added a Calculators tab linking to the existing brewing, conversion, and distillation tools on the website.
- Made calculator links available from the signed-out welcome screen.
- Added saved Light, Dark, and System appearance choices for the native app.
Account and privacy controls, easier to find
- Added links to the privacy policy, data download, and account deletion from Account.
- Made privacy and account-deletion links available before sign-in.
- Account deletion explains the consequences before opening the website’s protected confirmation form.
Help improve Brew Buddy’s answers
- Added Report answer with a reason, optional notes, and an explanation of the information submitted.
- Added a receipt after a successful report and safe retry behavior if submission fails.
- Canceling the report sends nothing.
A familiar face on your home screen
- Updated the launcher icon to the illustrated brewer portrait.
- Kept the full My Brewing Buddy logo inside the app.
Meet Brew Buddy in the Android app
- Added Brew Buddy chat for brewing questions, follow-ups, site help, saved-recipe lookup, and recipe suggestions.
- Organized the signed-in app into Recipes, Brew Buddy, and Account tabs.
- Added selectable text replies and a New chat action. Suggestions do not automatically change your recipes.
Start a new recipe from your phone
- Added New recipe with ingredients, notes, and support for beer, wine, mead, and distillation.
- Uses your account’s units and checks required values before saving.
- Keeps the draft when a save result is uncertain and asks you to check before retrying.
Fine-tune your recipes on the go
- Added editing for saved recipes, including brewing details, ingredients, quantities, and notes.
- Added conflict handling when a recipe has changed on the website, preserving your draft for review.
- Added confirmation before discarding unsaved edits.

- Added your saved recipe library with search, recipe-type filters, refresh, and Load more.
- Added recipe details with ingredients, quantities, brewing settings, and notes.
- Connected the library to your existing My Brewing Buddy account.
Sign in with your existing account
- Added browser-based sign-in through the My Brewing Buddy website.
- Added persistent, revocable app sessions and in-app sign-out.
- Your account password stays in the website’s sign-in flow.
